WHAT LIES BENEATH THE BED – PARADE OF LIGHTS is the second of seven books in the WHAT LIES BENEATH THE BED - SERIES. Tommy and the gang change their mischievous ways after their near-death experience with Orin the wizard on the island of Maccabus, but only for a short time. Derek can’t stand the fact that Jimmy and his friends steal their thunder and ruin the Hummel County Parade. Derek’s dream during class takes him to the city of Gibeon. Gibeon is a virtual-reality city filled with game centers, arcades, movie theaters, electric parade and spectacular fireworks show. Matilda, an extra-large firefly/fairy, comes to life from his dream and convinces the gang, through dreams and visions, to journey to the city of Gibeon from the nether world under Derek’s bed. Derek and his friends venture to Gibeon and find themselves caught in the middle of a war between evil Jonathan and Mount Chrome because of Jonathan’s exile to Zevon Forest. Jonathan is using everything Igor (sorcerer) has to raise up an army from the wicked swamp to overthrow Mayor Messa and his city. During the preparation for war, Derek and Tammy get sucked into two video games; Street Speed III and Troas (fighting game). Tommy, his friends and the children of Gibeon must play against the machines and their players for Tammy and Derek’s lives. Tammy and Derek never knew how real the characters inside a video game could be, until now. Mount Chrome raises warriors out of Troas, from the Roga Stones, to battle Igor’s sorcery and try to end Jonathan’s plot for revenge. |
